The women are more tubular and skinny

Amorous Capitalism

Dr Voracek, a psychologist from the University of Vienna, went to the Playboy website for details of the height, weight, bust, waist and hip measurements of every centrefold model since the magazine began.

On crunching the numbers, he discovered the women were getting both thinner and straighter, with less difference between their waist and bust or hip sizes.

Men's fantasies don't handle curves like they used to

And the point of this is? If it's to state a fact then Dr. Voracek if right. If it's to say there's something amiss with the fact that many women no longer desire a rubenesque body then I protest. I would not trade my thin lean athletic body which I have worked so hard for to fit anyones elses ideal perception of women. I'd love to see the average woman with a more "full figure" (FAT) do one of my workouts.. up to an hour of aerobics and fourty five minutes of weights and Bowflex per day six days a week. Good luck! The fact that many of us have traded those useless fat cells for lean muscle just proves that we can and want to be physically healthy and active. I sometimes feel that all the uproar about women being thin and strong is just the fearful reaction by some, certainly not all, men that we're threatening their obsolete dominant role. So, how about supporting all of us who refuse to fit the good Dr's mold. Thanks.
I think it was just a mildly amusing if questionable pop sociology. There's no doubt the increase in exercise that has emerged over the last twenty years has been a good thing (although odd that obesity should rise at the same time. Sounds like you must've been harassed by some Fat Acceptance people.
