Belle De Jew
• Amorous Pop Culture
An unattractive attempt to exploit Belle de Jour's popularity and the 'media buzz' (wheeze?) surrounding her weblog:
According to The Times (source of almost all our blogging news), the film rights are also being frantically contested. All of which raised the question of how long it would be until a jealous wannabe tried to jump on the Belle de bandwagon. Less than a week. On Monday, LNR received an email from one ‘Belle De Jew’, promoting her brand new blog – the style of which bears more than a passing resemblance to the original. Sadly, unlike the original, the pretender has no links with the sex trade, choosing instead to prostitute herself in the world of business consultancy. More FTSE than foot jobs if you will. It’s also unoriginal, clunky and written by someone clearly trying so hard to get a book deal of their own they’re prepared to use spam to get their message across. All eyes on Toby Young.
