Fcuk yeah

Amorous Pop Culture

I discovered that an old entry on French Connection UK (FCUK) was getting lots of fresh hits and wondered why. Seems the prude police are nagging them again. Every time mom or dad gets upset by this fairly simple marketing ploy they play right into the brand's hands. Well, as long as there are prudes to be offended all I can say is fcuk yeah.

LONDON - The ASA has asked French Connection UK not to use its trademark FCUK logo in unsolicited catalogues targeting new customers when it could be construed as a rude word.

The move comes after a member of the public received the FCUK mail order catalogue unsolicited and complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that slogans on the brand's T-shirts were offensive.

The range of slogans included: "Sexy as FCUK", "Cheeky as FCUK", "Inter-course activities FCUK polytechnic", "If you lose something, let it go free, if it doesn't come back, who gives a FCUK. The End", "No FCUKing angel", "FCUK like a bunny", "FCUK ewe", "FCUK up", "FCUK off", "FCUK you" and "FCUK King".

FCUK mail order catalogue work deemed offensive

An earlier entry that has inspired a surprising number of comments: FCUK YOU!

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Fcuk yeah. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
