When he learned a student at his school was wearing the bracelets twisted into an obscene shape, Scharf decided to ban them, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said.

"That is so dumb that they banned them," said Kirsten Stowe, a seventh-grader. "They think that we're talking about sex all the time."

I had just heard about this hole thing with jelly bracelets meaning certian things that have to do with sex. Me and my friend think it is very stupid and wear them anyway. Just because you wear the things dont mean you have to follow this stupid game they had just made up. And if you do play the game then that is your decision but i dont think that should ruin it for everyone else who wants to wear them.

I Go To High School And I Can Tell You That The Jelly Bracelet Sex Game Is True The Colors Very But The Meaning IS The Same almost Everybody In my School Wears Them And Knows What They Mean. I think that the whole uproar about the bracelets is stupid from the beginning. The people in my school never even heard of the "sex bracelets" until the media posted it publicly. NOW people are starting to call them that. If they would have stopped it at the source, instead of making such a big deal out of it nation wide, then most schools wouldn't even be playing "SNAP" right now. In my school, The Jelly Bracelets started out as a punk/rocker fashion statement, then the whole school started wearing them. It was just a fashion trend, nothing that should have been turned into THIS. Now, I can't wear my bracelets without people thinking that I am some sort of whore. (excuse my language) The fact is, Most people didn't consider them as more than just a bracelet, UNTIL the public started getting so uptight about all of it. I think that the people who do play "SNAP" are immature, and need to grow up!!! They think that Teenage sex is cool, and it makes them seem older. I think that it's STUPID!!! Hugging and Kissing I can understand, but NOT as a game!!! That is saved for love! Not Fashion!!!! Because of everyone making such a fuss out of all this, I can't even wear my bracelets in public! I think that if the bracelets weren't so popular, that this never would have happened. The only reason why people decided to make a big deal out of them, is because everyone had them. That's why whoever thought of "SNAP" chose the Jelly Bracelets to be the center of the game. And by the way whoever made the game "SNAP" I hate you, I think that you need some SERIOUS coulseling, you need to grow up and get your mind of passing school, not disrupting it with sex. I'm 14, and I've already had the peer pressure of sex, I don't need a stupid game with nothing more than little bracelets to influence me and my fellow bracelet wearers that look at it as nothing more than fashion to get sucked into the stupidness of teen sex. Let alone, make a big deal of it. I think that Everyone who plays the game "SNAP" needs to knock it off. Sex is not a game, and Bracelets are NOT sex!!! Get that through your heads, and quit acting so immature. Maybe you guys need to go back to kindergarten, and learn the difference between games, and immaturity. Thank you.

Well, I knew all about the sex bracelets, and indeed, that's what we call them in our middle school (only using the term jelly bracelets around parents), but no one ever snaps them. We all know what they mean, but we're not stupid enough to actually play the game. Yeah, I wear black sex bracelets. So what? They merely match what I'm wearing that day. Well I live in England and sort of stumbled across this site as I heard that they all have meanings, so I was looking into it. I knew a couple of the meanings and my mates and I all wear those jelly bracelets, but we call 'em shag bands. We think all the meanings are hilarious and are treating it like one big JOKE. I think you are wrong, wrong, wrong Mr. 'Wise Guy'. Anywho..^_^ I wear 9 black and 6 blue and I found it quite hilarious when i found out what it meant. People ask me about it and I would say, "No! My Shag bracelet!" Lol. So once again media is blowing it out of proportion, blah blah. Already stated. It's their fault that some of the teens are sexually active anyways. If they don't like it so much take off the reality television shows. Banning it at school won't change a thing except make it worse ne? Ne! Hey, I wear jelly bracletes all the time....My b/f is always breaking them but we never do anything b/c we know we are to young, He's 15 and I'm 13. I think they look so cool. Besides it's just a stupid game. Hey, I think jellys rock and all of my friends do to. If we want to wear them we should be able to wear them our school hasnt banned them but many surrounding schools have and I think that is just stupid I mean if we want to wear them we do. It is not like we have to go and have sex with him/her anyways.
