Playboy: just a bag of potato chips

Amorous Pop Culture

From an article on the forthcoming "Girls of the Pac-10" feature.

"When Playboy was first launched, it provoked moral panic in the United States," said Herdt. Today, he said, Playboy is just "another thing out there, like a bag of potato chips."

There haven't even been any sizable protests since 2000, when the magazine crew drove a Playboy bus cross-country and was met by various protests, said contributing producer Jodi Vander Woude, who has worked for Playboy for 15 years.

"We miss those pickets," she said. "It's fun to talk to them."

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Playboy: just a bag of potato chips. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
