Children younger than 10 have initiated sexual intercourse and oral sex with other children after seeing explicit images on the internet.
Prompting fresh calls for tighter internet porn regulations, a child abuse conference was told yesterday that exposure to internet porn had led children to commit sex crimes against other children.
Of 101 children seen in the past three years by Canberra Hospital's child-at-risk assessment unit for "sexually abusive behaviour", 90 per cent said they regularly saw sexually explicit images on the internet.
"The anecdotal evidence shows an adverse reaction to viewing pornography on the internet," Canberra Hospital social worker Cassandra Tinning told the Sydney conference.
Good old anecdotal evidence, the kind proof offered by ufo nuts and people who've spoken to the Virgin Mary.
