Stop Adults' Facilitation of the Exploitation of Youth Act

Amorous Web, Cyber Sex

YouTube and Google Video may only offer sexual content inadvertantly but that won't protect them from busybodies and politicians. Indeed, the Stop Adults' Facilitation of the Exploitation of Youth Act might put a webmaster in jail.

Possibly the complaints of their advertisers will have an even more potent effect on the administrators of websites that allow users to post anything. But - given the sheer volume - who has the manpower to carefully police submissions?

And this will surely draw the same people who used Blogger to create all the adult shill splogs.

YouTube is not the only well-known video site where such graphic content appears. Many of the companies that let users display homemade videos on the Web are having difficulty keeping their pages smut-free. A weeklong review of some of the top user-generated video sites by CNET News.com unearthed scenes of beheadings, masturbation, bloody car accidents, bondage and sadomasochism. It's important to note that no child pornography was discovered.

Video sites grapple with specter of smut
