There’s alot more to being a Professional Dominatrix than just reading a book that tells you to learn about BDSM and place an ad! That’s some of the worst, naieve advice going!
It is a good idea to hook up with the BDSM community wherever you live. Finding other Pro-Dommes who will talk to you about their profession is another good thing. If they’ll talk to you.
Before hanging out a shingle, it’s a wise idea to find out about the laws governing prostitution, pandering, solicitation, and assault—every state’s laws are different. In some states, you can get busted for hitting someone, even if it is consensual.
Find out, too, if certain kinds of pictures can be forms of solicitation. The wrong picture on your website could call attention to you that you don’t want.
Set limits and boundaries for yourself. Some things guys want you might not want to do.
Find out, too, if there have been any busts for massage parlors, dungeons, or escorts in your area. This will mean that the cops will be keeping an eye peeled for anything out of the ordinary in their jurisdictions. That includes Staties too, not just the local guys.
Also figure out if you are going to have a dungeon or work outcall. If you plan to go the dungeon route, it’s a good idea to find out about zoning laws and home businesses. Neigbors get nosy when they see lots of people coming and going, whether in apartments or private homes. If you have a dungeon in an industrial area, you’ll have to find out more about setting up a ‘studio space.’
Also, pay your taxes!
If you have any apprehensions about being identified as an adult performer, then think again about being a ProDomme—it’s not necessarily something you put on a resume if you retire.
Maybe this sounds like alot of unnecessary preparation—everybody thinks ProDomming’s all alot of fun and games, but it’s really a business just the way a psychotherapist is a business….you’re just dealing with the other end.

There are plenty of British ProDommes.
Have you learned the craft? You dont want to find yourself in jail like the dominatrix who accidentally suffocated a client.
Do you think you can screen out dangerous men? Some professional Dommes have been attacked by a supposedly submissive man.
Do you understand the psychology of power exchange?
The physiology of S&M?
Have you bothered to read the useful books by Claudia Varrin, Jay Wiseman, Midori?
Do you really know what you are getting into.
Anyway.
Pickup a paper that carries ads by local dungeons. See if they are looking for new Dommes. And see if they offer training. Some do.

Funny thing is most dominant women are looking for someone worth dominating: a guy worth knowing. The specifics vary, as they do with all relationships. But just saying I want to be your dog isnt likely to get it for you.

I am thinking about becoming a dominatrix, and honestly its because the money seems to be really good. I’m all about business, and I am not looking to change my entire lifestyle and become some sadistic person. I would just like to go to “work” do my job well and be done with it.
