The Ferticare has to be held in place during use, while the Eros Therapy requires fine motor skills to apply. It seems an awfully limited selection for the estimated 807,000 Alabamans who have a disability.

Cory Silverberg, a sex educator and co-author of The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability, says that unfortunately, "sex is not considered an activity of daily living" when it comes to attendant care for people with disabilities.

I am a firm believer in sex toys for the disabled. My boyfriend is a quadroplegic, I love him as much today as I did when we first met (he was able bodied then). After many months of his telling me to leave him and doing everything possible so that I would, I finally realized he was a captive audience once he was lying in his bed. He limited mobility in his arms, however with the use of a vibrator and strategically placed, we both get off on sex. It may sound strange, but for us this is normal sex now - one of the many things we can do together.
