What does it say about American culture that penis comes more quickly to the tongue than clitoris?
"After all, every woman has one," [Elizabeth] Topp continues, adding, "Do you know that most women haven't even seen their own vagina?"
I concede it's a good point as a memory of my own adult first use of a hand mirror flashes by. But women have, it's true, never been encouraged to study their lower anatomy closely. I suggest to her that maybe this is because it's tucked away out of sight rather than sticking out like a man's part?
But Topp isn't easily diverted. She rails at a society that still prissily calls the clitoris "the little man in the boat" and also cites the medical establishment as being to blame for the avoidance -- a world she says was a male-dominated world for so long and ignored female sexuality while concentrating on male issues.
