I personally know or “knew” Rene. I went to see him after his surgery to support him however, me speaking my mind led to a fallout. Actually, I never spoke to Rene about it, just heard the awful message he left on my machine. My point is you are what you are and we are in no position to judge as bad as we may want to. I think Rene may be his own worst enemy as he judges people more than anyone I have ever met in my life.

I watched part one of Rene’s story and I think it is wonderful what he is doing. I can’t speak from personal experience but I don’t think that he would look and act that much like a man if he wasnt actually supposed to be that way. I think more people should try to understand instead of judge. I would really like to meet him one day he seems like he would be real fun to hang out with and he is very good looking!!!

as a lesbian that leads a more dominant lifestlye in my relationship i have to say this…..rene is a disgrace to women and to lesbians. to deny that she was in a lesbian relationship was one thing, but the awful way she treated her loving understanding wife of 11 years was disgusting.i must say this, she will make a great man because she is the perfect example of why lesbian are. she is a very abusive person and her journy and her “cause” was nothing but a joke to me. i feel sorry for her wife and if she ever wants to expirence real sex then send her my way.

I very much enjoyed Rene’s Story, so I just had to tape it. I am a transsexual male as well. Though I’m not on T nor have I had any type of surgery yet… hopefully soon. I so wish I had Rene’s determination and confidence!
Nancy, how can Rene be a disgrace to women and lesbians when he is neither? He is a transsexual heterosexual male. I do agree that he was quite insensitive to his wife though. That was the only bad part about the show. His transition was anything but a joke. To a lot of transfolk it’s life or death.
And to Dr. Pete Raphael, if you’re readin’… contact me if you feel like givin’ out anymore freebie operations! :D

I am the girlfriend of a female to male man and I/we would highly appreciate if I/we had the opportunity to watch this documentary. Can anyone make it possible for us? Thanks a lot in advance. We are looking forward for a quick reply, Chris and Mela from Budapest, Hungary

I’m amazed anyone saw anything positive in this, Rene was a jerk on many levels. I admit I use to think surgery would change a transgeneder person, but I realize I was wrong. Rene was needs help other than surgery. I was sad to see how he treated his wife, and misled their sons.
