Tranny Chasers

Gender Outsiders: Transgendered & Others

I've always been attracted to androgyny - originally just nelly guys, eventually the full spectrum of genderfuck, roleplaying, gender ambiguity - each individual variation. I also learned about gender dysphoria and strive to never objectify or stereotype transgendered folks.

That my lover is a mtf transsexual is the outcome of shopping for one. She was a boy for the first several years of our friendship.

This leaves me fascinated with the men who become obsessed with "she-males." I'm not one to criticize peoples fetishes but they do seem to have their heads full of all sorts of naοve notions and odd assumptions.

Dan Savage's latest column focuses on "tranny chasers" and their kindred.

"There are drag queens, trannies/she-males, and transvestites," Josh says. "Transvestites are generally straight, and use women's clothing as a fetish. Trannies are generally as demure as she-males are exotic, but under both their wigs they've got some of the same 'trapped in the wrong body' feelings. Drag queens are like rental birthday clowns at gay parties. We're not women trapped in male bodies. We're celebrities trapped in normal people's bodies."

Which is to just touch the edge. While some are aiming to ape the ancient heterosexual female images from pop culture self-identified hermaphrodites and others for whom there are no labels are forging hitherto unknown sexual personas and selves.

mY HUSBAND BECAME OBSESSED WITH TRANNIES SEVEN YEARS AGO. hE PAYS HE-SHES ONLINE FOR WEBCAM SEX, AND HAS PROBABLY HAD SEX WITH THESE MEN. As a result our family is being torn apart, and our children will suffer. I despise these fags, who truly just want straight men.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Tranny Chasers. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
