Being in prison is bad. Being transgendered there has to be even worse. And there are the insane complications of being atypically gendered and having to cope with a literal minded bureaucracy.
State Department of Corrections’ policy says it determines what type of clothing and property to give men and women based on their genitals.
“The hormone therapy caused her to grow breasts,” Frakes told the Wisconsin State Journal newspaper of Madison. “But she’s not allowed to have a bra.”
