Byproduct account: female orgasm as accident
» Gender Studies
There's an interesting summary of the research preceding and furor surrounding Elisabeth Lloyd's The Case of the Female Orgasm : Bias in the Science of Evolution.
Most believed that female orgasm must somehow contribute directly to women's reproductive success (in evolutionary terms, must be an adaptation). Nor did the work go over well with feminists, who thought it cast women's sexual experience as derivative of men's.

After orgasm, men are usually tird/sleepy and women are usually energized. It occurs to me that perhaps this is eo ensure survival of the species: the man falls asleep and the woman moves on to another inseminator/orgasm!
It works for me even though I am not making babies!

My ideas on this subject is that it would work in reverse, if it was a cue of evolution. I mean, doesn’t it make more sense for a male to be revved up and go after another girl, try to make her pregnant, and then another, and another? One guy can service several women and get several babies. One women can service several men and end up with still only one baby (Ignoring for the moment twins and tripplets. In that case, the man’s babies would double/tripple with whatever number of partners they were with, while the single women with multiple men would still only have one.)
