Is midlife less of a crisis for women?

Gender Studies

This bit from The Breaking Point : How Female Midlife Crisis Is Transforming Today's Women is part of the good news about the lives of middle-aged women in America nowadays.

Sex is important to quality of life, say two-thirds of women ages 45-59. Three-fourths of the men agree. Bonus: Many women are better able to experience orgasm as they near age 40.

Women turn midlife on its head

Hope it is true. How about for you?

women are supposed to get better with age (sexually, at least). along with age (ideally that is, but reality is another matter) comes wisdom and an ever expanding bag of sexual (mental and physical) tricks. of course, this only applies to women with intellect and self confidence. no matter what the looks, the stupid and unwitty never age well--and as a result, get less sex, and are lusted after less. so getting better orgasms at 40 probably won't apply to them.
I visited my mother a couple of years after she finally did the right think and left my father. To my shocked pleasure she went out to bars and brought attractive guys back home. She was about 50. The guys were often in their early 20s. Some of them would ask her to marry them. (She'd firmly decided that she had enough of marriage.) She was attractive for her age, sure, but I think it was her exceptional likeability that had them spending the night with her. I was quite proud of her.
