Mathematics of female attractiveness

Gender Studies

When you look at a pretty woman the first thing you probably notice is her face. Well, maybe it is really the curve and size of her breasts. Or slope of her lower back, shape of her calves. You don't think about it, your back brain performs the erotic arithmetic in a fraction of a second.

J. Fan, F. Liu, J. Wu, & W. Dai in Visual perception of female physical attractiveness assert:

... the best way to judge a woman's attractiveness is to take her volume in cubic metres and divide it by the square of her height. The researchers call the figure her volume-height index, or VHI.

You never know what is behind this sort of research. Some people are too cerebrally stupid to see the obvious or too fearful of accepting the not easily quantified. Other researcher perform studies hoping to get media attention which will in turn get them more funding.
