Blame it all on porn
» Laws and Politicians, Mostly Bad
As you know porn is destroying the family and about to cause the collapse of civilization as we wish we didn't know it.
Data supporting these claims is hard to come by and what some perceive as an increase in social harm and addiction may simply be the result of an increase in access to care and attention, with no actual increase in problems.
"It is just a rhetorical technique," Philip Jenkins, an expert in the field and professor at Pennsylvania State University, told UPI. "You take something that everyone knows to be the worst thing in the world and talk about is as the subtext and the link becomes magnified."
He also noted that the same technique is used to tie the crusade against pornography directly to the fight against pedophilia and child pornography.

porn is by far not the worst thing in the world… i would have to say that white castle would be the worst.

Down here they are known as Krystals. Their slogan used to be “Get the happy Krystal habit.” For a time some of them were hangout for crystal meth addicts so they stopped that ad campaign.

Ahh…the linking of viewing porn to the actual comission of violent acts.
A few years back, heard on BBC Radio (I’m in Europe) a researcher, can’t remember who, or what his discipline - but - he was researching the motivation of serial killers. He commented that most paraphilias were acquired at the first stirrings of puberty, often stimulated by quite mundane, everyday objects. The objects themselves usually belonged to the parents, so it might be hosiery, or mackintoshes, one killers deviance was induced by secretly reading his fathers stash of hunting magazines.
The interviewer pressed him. Surely, porn was what made these killers? No, the man said, we didn’t find this very common. If anything, he added, the most widely read literature of these (several) killers was the Book of Revelations!
