MySpace: Haven for Child Molestors?

Laws and Politicians, Mostly Bad

Maybe Tom Reilly is planning to run for governor of Massachusetts. He wants to raise the minimum age for participation to 18.

"MySpace has not taken sufficient steps to ensure that the MySpace Web site is a safe place for minors," Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly said in a letter to MySpace.

He said a three-month investigation found that potential child predators were surfing MySpace seeking chats with potential victims and violent images or content were being posted to bully children.

Comments

I think evil people will use anyything for evil purposes if that is there intent we have a society set up that anything else besides a bank can be taken advantage of by bad people but MySpace should not get a bad rap for offering a service that has revolutioned way people communicate.
