Pornography tax

I honestly don’t see anything wrong with taxing pornography. It’s not that I think pornography should be marginalized, but pragmatically, this seems to be the situation: -state governments are experiencing the worst budget shortfalls in history -pornography of all kinds is an $800billion industry annually. -it’s not exactly as bad as taxing necessities like food, either- it IS a pretty frivolous industry. -It’s actually the kind of legislation that could be set up to tax pornography to generate funds for public services directly (like schools, and social welfare programs), that, because of the christian rights spiteful hatred of everything sexual, could actually garner bipartisan support. its worth taking advantage of this rare opportunity to actually raise taxes to help people.

Its time to admit that pornography is here to stay. But this is not porn. This goes off the deep end far beyond porn. But whatever you want to call it - its here to stay. The terrain has changed and people who keep pushing to “ban” it dont want to recognize it and are living in a pipe dream. The Surpreme court has ruled countless times that this is is an infringment on the first ammedment. Where does that leave the majority of us ? One word - TAX. Tax this to the hilt. Tax anyone and anything connected with its productions or distribultions in any way shape or form. From the so called “actors” to the people watching it in the privacy of thier homes. Tax it out of exsistance. This is a $800 billion dollar a year industry that supports organized crime, human expolitation, pumps billions into the mafias pockets. If you think they are managing massuse parlors think again. It amazes how the goverment with its unlimited resources is always one step behind. They will spend millions investgating and prosecuting “ciggarette smugglers” becuase of the so called connection to organized crime when the answer is right in front of them. TAX IT OUT OF EXISTANCE.
