South African Sex Education

Laws and Politicians, Mostly Bad

From a collection of remarks made my South African politicians in 2002:

"Does the deputy president feel that this is going to help the HIV/Aids situation, worsen it, or lessen it?" - African Christian Democratic Party MP Cheryllyn Dudley, quoting from a loveLife manual that says by grade six, children have to know how to give a female an orgasm, including through oral sex.

"No, uh, Madam Chair, some of the things the honourable member is talking about I don't know, absolutely they don't talk sense to me... I can't answer on wrong things that people do that are unnatural." - Deputy President Jacob Zuma, responding to Dudley's question.

Notable, quotable memories of 2002

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about South African Sex Education. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
