Though I'm fan of American popular Christianity I'd never heard of the National Missionary Baptist Convention. Probably because it is a black denomination and I mostly know the honky born again. One Missionary Baptist preacher really lets us know who disgusted and frightened he is by gay marriage.
The Rev. Robert A. Lee, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Kokomo and president of the Indiana Missionary Baptist Convention, agrees that defending marriage is a top priority for the convention. In fact, he so opposes gay marriage that he referred to it in an interview Tuesday only as "that issue" and by the initials "g" and "m."
"My tongue won't even speak that phrase," Lee said.
