Gaypril

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual

Be interesting to see if 'Gaypril,' the term being used at Harvard for a month of gay pride celebrations catches on elsewhere.

According to BGLTSA Political Chair Oussama Zahr ’03, events include a night of clubbing, an anti-homophobia speak-out on April 10 and a discussion about whether to hold a “kiss-in” where same-sex couples would kiss outside the Science Center.

I really don't like the name they chose. It sounds like something they'd make up on Saturday Night Live to make fun of. But, if those involved are happy, that's all that counts. No, I'm not a lesbian. I'm hetero & married but am fully supportive of those that are gay, lesbian or bisexual. It's the person's choosing, it always has been, regardless of other people's opinions. The protestors drive me nuts. Whose business is it who we sleep with?? I sleep with a man, you don't see people all up in my business. So, why should they be up in people's business who aren't heterosexual?? It drives me crazy & I'll help fight for rights for any of these people. Well, except sick stuff like animals & incest. lol You know what I mean. Sorry Richard, I'm a little yappy today :)

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Gaypril. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
