Jim Malone is gratified to not have the spectre of AIDS haunting him but how can he ever recapture the eight years of waiting and wondering?
"My father went to his grave last month cursing me for being infected," Malone said, adding that his dad said his infection was punishment for being gay.
As a result, Malone had mixed emotions when his doctor at the Department of Veterans Affairs' Oakland clinic told him last week that he actually isn't HIV-positive, and presumably never has been.
