Niceness squadrons at the beach

Religious Meddlers, Do-gooders

Beware of Ordinance 22-10, otherwise known as the Thong Law, which prohibits exposure of "buttocks, with less than a fully opaque covering."

The conflict in Virginia Beach reached a boiling point this month, when a local purveyor of adult toys planned "Sexology Expo 2003" -- billed as a trade show with appearances by adult film stars -- at two local hotels for this coming weekend. City officials were outraged. What happened next is a matter of dispute: Conference organizers alleged that the hotels were pressured into canceling their reservations by the city, a charge the mayor serenely denies. The Sexology Expo is now off. The sexologists are not pleased. McElvy is considering a lawsuit.

Virginia Beach's No Bad Behavior

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Niceness squadrons at the beach. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
