Sacred brides of Jesus Christ

Religious Meddlers, Do-gooders

If Jesus has 1500 brides I guess He believes in polygamy.

James B. Meadow, Rocky Mountain News:

Inkret and Thomas are consecrated virgins, brides of Jesus Christ, adherents of a calling that is almost as old as the Catholic Church itself. ...

"For a while, I got questions like 'Why would you do that? What will you do if meet Mr. Right, the perfect guy?' " says Inkret, 43.

With her perpetually shy smile, she adds, "I said, 'I already have.' " ...

"Living a chaste life is very contemporary, very trend-setting; it's really cutting edge when you think about it," she insists, fingering her gold wedding band that is embossed with a crown of thorns.

Those who take path of consecrated virgins offer 'total self to God'

Comments

that polygamy comment is the most ignorant comment that i have ever heard. i think that woman is amazing for offering her life to Jesus Christ.
religion is a pile of shit
how can u be anti-rascist and anti-homophobia and all that and bash churches? I know u americans have some wierdo religious people but geez I'm actually offended at ur comment about polygamy, Jesus was celibate, just because these people call themselves brides of Christ doesnt mean we see them as ACTUAL brides or allow polygamy. it just means that they have devoted their life to Jesus. You dont' need to make fun of them for that.
What else is there to do with Christians other than to make fun of them? Respecting their mythology is a waste of time.
I wonder how many hot chicks consecrate themselves to Jesus. . . I'm thinking none, so what's the big loss? If a fat girl is going to live alone (or with some jerk who knows he can be mean to her) why not give her life to Jesus? At least that's a nice fantasy.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Sacred brides of Jesus Christ. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
