High School Cellphone Porn

Sex Crime

Students at Parkland High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania face child pornography charges if their cellphones contain images of a couple of other students having sex. The images were - unsurprisingly - passed around all over school and naturally made their way onto the web.

Authorities want kids who received the images to turn themselves in, something only the most hopelessly paranoid student is likely to do. Not that anyone what - if anything - might even be done to the students.

“Most people got it and kept passing it along for fun to everyone in their phonebook,” said Jon Gabriel, 16, a junior who said he received and deleted the images.

At least 40 high school students believed to have received images

Comments

So even if someone was sent this image without asking to receive it, they still think that person did something wrong? How are you supposed to stop an image from being sent to you without blocking everyone’s number?

And the whole child porn charges thing is strange to me considering that many of them are minors themselves; that means that if they have consensual sex, they both could be charged with corruption of a minor. Great, put someone on the lifelong sex-offender registry just for exploring their sexuality before the arbitrary age of 18.

People are dumb.
