The nun who became God's Call Girl

Sex Workers

Street of Sin

She's just published her autobiography, God's Call Girl.

Carla van Raay, who was born in Holland in 1938 but moved to Australia as a child, joined a Melbourne convent as a way of escaping a traumatic childhood. But after a number of conflicts with other nuns, she left and briefly became a teacher before embarking on a long-term life offering sex for money. ...

"As soon as the word came into my mind, I thought, well, I can prostitute myself as well, but I'll make good money and I'll have fun at the same time."

Ms van Raay is now working on a second book, entitled In Praise Of Prostitution.

From nun to prostitute

Usually I would not bye someone elses hard luck storie though most all end in being a good strong emotional storie. This book just jumped into my arms, so to speak. Having been an abused child also, I very much related to Carlas storie, also have serched and serched much the same as her. I am very moved by this book, also appreciate her truths. The hard truths of finding ones self. I certainly will keep going now that I have read her book. Its just so dam trickey at times to keep growing sometimes, this has encouraged me. Thankyou Carla for your search and for putting it in an easy to read and understand form.. I certainly would like to meet this wondeful woman.. Your greatfully..Laine
