Is the money pharmaceutical companies are pouring into researchers hands in hopes of finding "Viagra for women" causing an oversimplified view of women's sexual problems?
[Leonore] Tiefer, who is a member of an educational and advocacy group known as FSD-Alert, worries that women who don't fit the newly created medical model of sex end up with another reason to feel insecure about themselves.
Tiefer and other critics say pharmaceutical companies have bankrolled - and some of their representatives have attended - many of the scientific meetings that resulted in a definition of female sexual dysfunction in 1998.
