Al-Khansa: not an Arabic Cosmo
» Zealots, Crusaders, Pests
The magazine is aimed at what might be called jihadististas, women wed to radical Islamists. Known in their homeland as heroes but in the West as terrorists.
It is stern reading by our standards:
One of its encouragements to jihad reads: "The blood of our husbands and the body parts of our children are our sacrificial offering."
Very stern:
Some take a somewhat patronising attitude, dwelling on supposed female weaknesses that must be overcome in the cause of jihad - such as over-dependence on home comforts like TV and air conditioning.
We decadent folk might find it more than a little prudish:
A section on current affairs also devotes some space to an attack on the recent development of having women presenters on Saudi TV, suggesting it is a kind of prostitution.

On one hand, it’s sad that these women are being used by so-called “patriots” to martyr themselves, when the “patriots” sit on comfortable pillows drinking hot coffee and laughing. Sure, they’ll send others to martyrdom, but why hot choose it for themselves, it’s so great? Bunch a candy-asses like Saddam, caught with a gun in his hand. Where’d his “martyrdom” run off to? On the other hand, one must respect a woman who is willing to die for her cause, even though the cause may be a lost, or twisted one. It never ceases to amaze me how perfectly intelligent people can so easily be led astray by the gleaming lips and sebaceous words from hypocrits and flim-flam men, and yes, it’s always MEN who command these things, must be a testosterone side-effect, the lust for violence. Peace be upon all of you, please think twice before strapping on that belt, there are those who will miss you, who will learn no more from you. JMan
