First grade boys in tears over porn accusation
» Zealots, Crusaders, Pests
Three Grade 1 boys were given detention for drawing what their primary school described as a "pornographic" picture of a well-endowed naked figure. ...
[Ridwaan] Mathews said what seemed to have happened was that the three children, all around seven years old, drew a stick figure with breasts and male genitals. ...
"The teacher said that even if he hadn't drawn it, he'd 'got pleasure from the picture and that's sick'," said Mathews. ...
"I think the school is totally sick to think that the pictures in question can be classified as pornography. I am totally disgusted with the way the school has handled a child's innocent drawing of the human body. These are three little boys. They were interrogated by three teachers and were crying.
Grade 1 pupils accused of drawing 'porn'

I often have those moments when i sit and smile silently, with pride when my 11 year old daughter talks to me about her sex / gender education she recieves at school.
I take pride in the fact that my child can openly express her views on sex with her parents and not feel ashamed to discuss these topics as most kids today are.
Children should be aloud to express themselves rather openly, rather than secretly probing friends and piers outside of the home about so called taboo subjects. Making a child feel ashamed of what they do or draw does not stop them from expressing that behaviour, but only encourages them to secretly express and experiment…..without the much needed guidance from a loving and responsive adult influence.
